Partnering

The Chamber believes in working together and developing relationships with Partners in the community, government and private business. As a way to connect Lāna‘i to outside resources and to leverage those resources for the benefit of our Members and Community.

Some of our significant Partners are:

  • The Maui County Mayor’s Office of Economic Development (OED) and Maui County.
  • ‘Ohina Short Film Showcase
  • Maui Economic Development Board (MEDB)
  • Maui Economic Opportunity (MEO)
  • Rotary International – The Rotary Club of Lāna‘i
  • Lāna‘i High & Elementary School (LHES)
  • Maui Business Brainstormers (MBB) & Small Business Week

Projects, programs and Events:

  • OED Grant Workshops, Department visits & field trips, Small Business Breakfast Presentations and ongoing grant and program support.
  • Inclusion of ‘Ohina’s Short Film Showcase as part of Fifth Friday’s and we are partnering on an ambitious 2017 Program to connect Lāna‘i High School Media Students to a local Film Project and potential Careers in the Industry. http://www.ohina.org/
  • Co-sponsored MEDB’s Small Business startup workshops and working with MEDB on more workshops in 2017.
  • Working together to support MEO’s Core4 Program and Loan Programs.
  • Cosponsored the first annual teacher appreciation dinner in conjunction with the local Rotary Club.
  • Working to develop and deploy Economic Literacy programs for LHES students in 2017.
  • Promoted Small Business Week Activities on Lāna‘i in partnership with MBB and OED.
